Basil Hall

Basil Hall (1788 - September 11th 1844), marine English.

It was attached in 1816 to the mission of Lord Amherst in China, explored the coasts of the Korea and the archipelago Liou-Tcheou, of which it published description in 1818, was charged, of 1820 with 1822, to explore the coasts of southernmost America, and description in 1824 gave (translated as of 1825 under the title of Voyage to Chile, in Peru, etc ), and then made of it for its own account various voyages which it published under the title of Travels in North-America , 1839. Reached at the end of its life of alienation, he died in a lunatic asylum.
