A baside is the principal body of Reproduction of the Champignon S Homobasidiomycetes S, from where the name of Basidiomycètes given to a wider group.

It is a cell specialized and finished by a variable number of points (Stérigmate S), carrying each one a named Spore basidiospore .

Joining of these cells out of membrane, results the Hyménium, whose situation was used as a basis for division of the Basidiomycetes in: Gastéromycète S (if the basides paper the interior of cavities contained in the receptacle) and Homobasidiomycetes S (if they extend on special points external of the same receptacle).

The whole of the basides constitutes the basidiome (or basidiocarpe ).

By analogy with the plants, one can consider that a baside is the Fruit mushroom and the basidiospores, his Graine S.

Many spores

The presence of the stérigmates is constant at Homobasidiomycetes. Their length varies. In the very large majority of the cases, the stérigmates are represented by the number four (sometimes 2 or 8).

The basides with only one spore meet in several Clavaire lower, with two spores at the kinds Pistillaria, Corticium, etc, to three stérigmates, in much of Agaric S, in consequence of the Avortement of the fourth stérigmate. The Chanterelle S have basides with five, seven and eight stérigmates.
