Basic management system of data relational-object
In a basic management system of data relational-object (SGBDRO) information is represented in the form of objects as in the directed programming object. A SGBDRO returns the objects of the database accessible to the languages direct-objects like objects from these languages. A SGBDRO extends the capacity of the computer programming language in a transparent way to the level of the persistence of the data, of the control of the concurrent actions, the recovery of data, of the associative requests,…
Certain SGBDRO are conceived to function with languages direct-objects known as Java, C#, Visual BASIC, .NET, C++ and Smalltalk. Others have their own computer programming language.
Technique
The majority of the SGBDRO offer a language of interrogation which makes it possible to find the objects with a declaratory approach . It is in this part of the SGBDRO that the difference between the products is felt. An attempt at standardization was led by Object Data Management Group (ODMG) with OQL ( language of interrogation object ).
The access to the data is generally faster because the joints are seldom necessary. Indeed, the objects can be reached directly by a pointer, without making of research.
The way of defining the diagram of a database is also a point of difference between the products. However, a general characteristic is that the computer programming language and the diagram of the base of data use the same types to define the data.
