Baseball with the Olympic Games of summer of 1992

The tournament of Baseball of the Olympic Games of summer of 1992 disputed July 26th with the August 5th 1992 with Barcelona in Spain. The meetings took place in the stages of Hospitalet de Llobregat and of Viladecans.

Format of the tournament

The eight participating teams play each one against the seven others at the time of the preliminary round. The four best teams qualify themselves for the semi-finals (1st against 4th and 2nd against 3rd).
Les victorious of the semi-finals plays for the gold medals and of money finally, whereas the losers dispute the medal of bronze.
Le tournament is only open to the players amateurs. The teams are limited to 20 joueurs.
L' use of aluminum beaters is authorized. If a team has more than ten points in advance during or after the 7th handle, the meeting is finished ( mercy rule ).

The first four teams (Cuba, Japan, Chinese Taipei and the United States) are qualified for the semi-finals. The three teams with equality after Cuba were decided between by the number of points conceded on average by 9 handles. Japan thus finishes second (1,50) in front of Chinese Taipei (5,00) and the United States (8,00).
