Bartolomeo Vanzetti
Bartolomeo Vanzetti (born the June 11th 1888 with Villafalletto in the Piedmont - died the August 23rd 1927 with Charlestown, Massachusetts, the United States) was militant a anarchistic italo - American, shown homicide in the Années 1920 with the the United States.
Biography
Born in a modest family from the Piedmont, in the north of the Italy, Bartolomeo Vanzetti is placed in training in a pastrycook at the 13 years age. Exploited, alive under miserable conditions, it falls ill. After the death of his mother, it leaves for America, the June 9th 1908. With New York, it shares the misery of the immigrants, exerts various odd jobs and becomes anarchistic towards 1913. It settles then with Plymouth, and works with the “Cordage Company” where it takes part, with the anarchist Luigi Galleani, with a one month strike, beginning 1916. Indicated as leader, it is placed on the black lists of employers. It is made travelling fish merchant then.
The May 5th 1917, it obtains the American citizenship , but the obligation to be registered for the future mobilization is voted the same month. To escape from it, it decides with about thirty anarchists to take refuge with the Mexico; it become acquainted there with Nicola Sacco. But after a few months, it turns over to Plymouth, whereas repression intensifies against refractories and the anarchists (Palmer raids).
The May 5th 1920, it is stopped with Nicola Sacco; they are suspected of having made two steerings (the December 24th 1919 with Bridgewater and the April 15th 1920 with South Braintree where two conveyers are killed). It is the beginning of the Affaire Sacco and Vanzetti.
