Bartolomeo Borghesi
Bartolomeo Borghesi is a Italian numismatist and epigraph , born with Savignano, close to Rimini, in 1781 and died in 1860.
It accepted from his father a rich person cabinet of medals, which it increased considerably, withdrew in 1821 during the disorders of the Italy to the Titan mount, in the republic of San Marino, to deliver itself to it in peace to the study, published on the Numismatique and the epigraphy of many work which drew to him the attention of the erudite Europe and was foreign associated member of the Académie of the inscriptions and the humanities, aggregate with the Institut of France and the Académie of Berlin. It left many manuscripts that Napoleon III made publish in its expenses.
Its bust is represented on the part of 2 Euro commemorative 2004 of the Republic of San Marino.
