Bartolo Longo
Bartolo Longo , born on February 10th, 1841 in Latiano, dead on October 5th, 1926, was an Italian lawyer. Dominican tertiary sector , it founded a sanctuary dedicated to Notre-Dame of the Rosaire to Pompéi, as well as charitable works in favor of children of prisoners, and the community of the Girls of the Saint Rosary of Pompéi. He also wrote several works and of many prayers, whose Supplique (1883) Arrivé at a great age, he made gift of all that he had with the Saint Seat, and it is in the absolute poverty that he died.
Bartolo Longo was béatifié on October 26th, 1980 by the pope Jean-Paul II, which saw in him a “apostle of the Rosary” and with five recoveries in its apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae quotes it.
A station of the subway of Naples bears its name.
