Childish Barthelemy-Prosper , known as the Father Childish , born with Paris the February 8th 1796 and dead the August 23rd 1864, is a Engineer and economist French.

Entered with the Polytechnic school in 1813, Enfantin resigns about it with the return of the Bourbons.

Starting from 1815, it left in business trips to Europe and returned to Paris in 1823.

It met Claude Henri de Rouvroy, count of Saint-Simon only once, via Olindes Rodrigues.

In 1825, Enfantin attends the burial of Saint-Simon. It then gave up its trade of banker to promote the doctrines of Saint-Simon, especially New Christianity .

He wrote in the Earth and the Producer .

In 1829, Childish and Saint-Amand Bazard published Exposition of the doctrines of Saint-Simon .

Of 1829 with 1832, Childish and Saint-Amand Bazard made Saint-simonisme a true “Church”, of which they became the “supreme fathers”. Childish was made call “the Father” by the “brothers” of the community.

With its imprisonment in 1832 for its attacks against the Private property and its defense of the Free love, the group of faithful burst.

Childish succeeds in alluring certain circles at the polytechnic school.

Childish was director of the company of the railroads the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean. It gained the Egypt, in 1833, where it founded a company for the boring of the Suez Canal. There remained three years there.

It took an active part in the colonization of Algeria (1839 - 1841).

Childish was director of the general Compagnie of water.

He is buried with the Cimetière of the Father-Lachaise.
