Barteria fistulosa
The Barteria fistulosa is a shrub with hollow trunk of the family of the alive Passifloraceae in the Equatorial forest of the Gabon. He saw, amongst other things, in symbiosis with ants of the kind Tetraponera .
A winged queen Tetraponera , coming from another colony, will only settle in the Barteria fistulosa and will dig a hole in a branch until reaching the central cavity, will tear off her wings and will colonize definitively it. Fertilized in flight by a male, it will lay then will deal with the first generation of workers.
