Barry John

Barry John , born the January 6th 1945 with Cefneithin, is a player of Rugby Welsh, playing half of opening.

It was called The King at the time of the round of the Lions in 1971 in New Zealand. It had all qualities: to touch ball, speed allowing him to bore defenses, vision of the play to direct the play to the foot and finally the precision in the kicks.

After beginnings with Llanelli RFC, it joined Cardiff where it will form with Gareth Edwards one of the best pairs of half of the history. As of 1966, it makes its international beginnings against the Australia. In 1968, the Lions renew the pair of Wales, John-Edwards and make of it the pair of their team in round in South Africa. Unfortunately, a wound prevents it from continuing the round.

1971 will be its great year. After a Large Slam in the tournament of the 5 nations with a crucial test to gain with Paris against the XV of France, it partipe with the round of the Lions in 1971 in New Zealand and Australia. it will be determining at the time of 1st and 3rd tests matches.

It is withdrawn at the top of its career at 27 years in 1972.
