Barred Camille

Camille Barré (born Gilles Barred in 1959) is a Militant E Transsexuelle.

Operated in 1998 for change of sex, it has been for several years the figurehead of the transsexual cause in France. The identity problems, the visibility and the acceptance of the Transsexual S and people Transgenre S within the company are as many topics defended by Camille, in particular within the framework of the Inter-LGBT, association lesbian, gay Bi and trans of which it forms part.

Attempt at marriage with Monica

Its popularity multiplied by ten during 2005 with the true media storm related to its proposal with Monica León (born Benito Martin León), nobody Transgenre not operated originating in Argentine (thus always man with the eyes of the civil statue ). Camille was invited on several national plates of television. The request was however rejected by French justice (the Pages prosecutor in particular), refusing in Camille and Monica the right of union however granted any heterosexual couple and denying by là-même its statute of woman.

An engagement in policy

Engaged today in policy, Camille fights at the sides of Marie-George Buffet, for a " company open " , a " equitable justice for all and all " , and better information of people on " all the differences ".

It is, Co-stimulating today collective " Proud-E and Révolutionnaire" of PCF, in load of questions LGBT. It made it possible to the French Communists to evolve/move on the question of the transsexuality and the kind. It carried at the time of the 33e congress the amendment on " right to the marriage and the adoption for all the couples without distinction of sex and kind or orientation sexuelle" who was voted unanimously by the congressmen.

In 2007, Camille Barré is candidate with the legislative elections on the 7th district of the Hauts-de-Seine (Rueil-Malmaison, Garches, Saint-Cloud), presented by the PCF the antilibéraux and collectives. She is then opposed to the president of the National Assembly and deputy and mayor of Rueil-Malmaison, Patrick Ollier, that one even which was opposed to the Marriage of Camille and Monica. She obtains 634 votes (1,22%), that is to say 132 votes of less than in 2002 (1,47%), but 42 votes moreover than Marie-George Buffet with the presidential election (0,82%).

Historically, it is the first candidate transsexual to be presented to a national election in France. It is supported by Vladimir Luxuria, is appointed communist transgenre of Rome in Italy and the music-pop group TOUCHANCE (of which it forms part as an honorary member)
