Barragan

Isidro Santiago Llano known as “Barragan” , born with Madrid (Spain) the February 18th 1811, dead the April 4th 1851, was a Spanish Matador.

Presentation

“Barragan” was initially apprentice tapestry maker, then launched out in art taurin, making its first weapons in races of villages close to Madrid, then being made Banderillero in the Cuadrilla of “Morenillo” and Manuel Romero.

The June 5th 1843, it fights for the first time in the capacity as matador in the arenas of Madrid, accompanied by “Noteveas” and Francisco of los Santos, and torée thereafter in all Spain in company of the high-speed motorboats of the time. According to its contemporaries, it was courageous and skilful, but was too timid and modest to be able to become a appeared (“high-speed motorboat”).

The March 23rd 1851, it is wounded by the bull “Jardinero” of the Ganadería of Gift Maximo Gonzalez, and dies the next on April 4th.
