Barracks of the pérégrins
The Caserne of the pérégrins ( Castrated Peregrina ) was located on the Caelius.
The pérégrins were soldiers detached with the provincial armies for the special services of Rome: the auxiliary Troops.
The Caserne was useful mainly for the frumentarii and speculatores , employed at the origin with the service of provisioning, like with the military mails, then like organizes special with the IIe and IIIe century.
A Temple of Jupiter Redux was set up inside the barracks.
