Barolo
See also: Barolo (homonymy)
The barolo is a Italian Vin of the Piedmont. The principal Cépage of name is the Nebbiolo. The barolos present many similarities with the classification and wine making of the wines of Burgundy. They result normally from a single type of vine (100% nebbiolo) though certain rumors imply that a small quantity of Barbera is sometimes added (illegal addition from the point of view of name). The communal names most famous are Barolo (i.e. barolo resulting from the zone of name surrounding the village of Barolo), Morra, Monforte d' Alba, Castiglione Falleto and Serralunga d' Alba. The barolos are not classified in “first vintage” and “great wine” with the Burgundian way but the concept of vintage is quite present. As example, two famous vintages of Monforte d' Alba are Sori Ginestra and " Bussia".
The barolo is kept during 4 years in barrels of oak. ----
