A barkhane is a Dune the shape of a crescent lengthened in the direction of the wind. It is born where the contribution of Sable is weak and under one-way winds.

The wind makes roll sand so that it goes up the slope of the back of the dune to the peak and comes to form small avalanches on the more sloping slope of the face. This phenomenon advances the dune.

bond towards the barkhanes of the Libyque desert.
