Barbuda is an island of the Antilles, it belongs to Antigua-and-Barbuda. Its inhabitants is called the Barbudiens . The major part of the population lives in the town of Codrington (1 100 inhabitants). Barbuda is in the north of Antigua.
Siboney were the first inhabitants of Barbuda in -2400, but are the Arawaks and the Indians the Caribbean who populated the island on arrival of Christophe Colomb in 1493.
The island was successively occupied by Spanish, French and finally English in 1667.
