Barbie Casse-Noisette (Barbie in the Nutcracker) is an American cartoon film carried out by Owen Hurley, directly distributed in video in 2001.

Synopsis

While she sleeps, the soldier nut-cracker that Clara/Barbie received in gift takes life. He drives out the King of the mice who is avenged and made narrow heroin. Only the Fairy Dragee will be able to release it from this evil spell.

Created in 1959, the Poupée Barbie is in the beginning many derivative products. It also inspired several cartoon films. Barbie Casse-Noisette is the first of these adaptations, followed in 2002 by Barbie, princess Raiponce .

The history takes as a starting point the tale of E.T.A. Hoffmann transposed in ballet by Tchaïkovski, in Casse-Noisette .

For animation ( Motion captures ), the scenes of dance were interpreted by the company of the New York City Ballet, on a choreography of Peter Martins.
