Barbara Manfredi
Barbara Manfredi (Faenza 1444 - Forli 1466) is noble Italian which lived at the 15th century.
Of the family of the Manfredi, it is the girl of Astorre II Manfredi lord of Faenza. In 1462 it married Pino III Ordelaffi lord of Forli with which it was promised since the old one seven years.
In 1463 Pino fell sick, his/her brother Francesco was suspecté to have poisoned it, but Pino is restored. In 1466, it was with the turn of Francesco to fall sick, Barbara testing in vain empoisonner.
Francesco having been assassinated by one of its officers Pino seized the city and became lord of Forli and Forlimpopoli with the assistance of Venice.
Shortly after Barbara died and Astorre II Manfredi, which suspectait Pino to be at the origin of its death, sought with the assistance of the pope to expel it Forli.
In memory of Barbara, Pino made set up a superb monument by Francesco di Simone Ferrucci in the church of Biagio Saint of Forli. This monument moved after the second world war is visible in the Abbaye of San Mercuriale with Forlì.
