Bar (computer programming language)

Bistro is a computer programming language direct-object, dynamically typified and reflective. It was conceived by Nikolas S. Boyd in 1999. Its language takes again concepts present in Smalltalk and Java. Bar is thus appeared as an alternative of Smalltalk being carried out thanks to a virtual Machine Java. The latter must be in conformity with the specifications of Sun Microsystems.
According to the originator of Bar, Smalltalk offers a modeling more expressive than Java. The fact that the Bytecode resulting from Bar is appeared as Java class ensures the portability of the applications and the possibility of integrating the code within Java applications. Bar also makes it possible to convert with less expenses an application into Smalltalk towards a Java environment.
