Bar-Hebraeus
Gregorios Abu' l-Faradg Aldine Gamal , called by the syriacisants Bar Ebroyo . The transformation of this name into Latin gave Bar-Hebraeus (wire of Hebrew) what led to false interpretations on its origins. Certain orientalists too quickly deduced that his/her father Aaron, doctor distinguished from Mélitène, was a Jew converted with Christianity. According to searchs for Jean Fathi-Chelhod, Bar Ebroyo would mean rather than it was originating in a small village called Ebro. (Let us recall besides that no Jew forever borne this name “wire of Hebrew”)
After Yahya Ibn “Adi, syriaque philosophy entered an apparent sleep. The policy of translation of the texts of Aristote and philosophical and scientific acculturation carried out under the first khalifes Abbâssides being stopped, the Christians ceased produir for the court. This external change however supported a return limited towards the language and the religious practice of the Christians monophysites.
In XIIe century, in addition to Bar Ebroyo, the jacobite Dionysius Bar Salibi (death on November 2nd, 1171) is sélèbre for its comments (comment of the Isagogue of Porphyry like the Categories, the De Interpretatione and the Analytiques of Aristote (comment on the Analytical ones is of 1148).
