Baoshan (保山; Pinyin: Bǎoshān) is a city of the west of the province of the Yunnan in China. It counts approximately: 120000 inhabitants, including approximately 1,5% of Christian. It is located between the border of the Myanmar and the river Mekong, in a cattle-rearing area.

Climate

The average temperatures for the town of Baoshan go from +9°C for the coldest month to +21,5°C for the hottest month, with an annual average of +16,3°C (figures stopped in 1990).

Administrative divisions

The city-prefecture of Baoshan exerts its jurisdiction on five subdivisions - a district and four counties  :

• the district of Longyang - 隆阳区 Lóngyáng Qū   ;
• the county of Shidian - 施甸县 Shīdiàn Xiàn   ;
• the county of Tengchong - 腾冲县 Téngchōng Xiàn   ;
• the county of Longling - 龙陵县 Lónglíng Xiàn   ;
• the county of Changning - 昌宁县 Chāngníng Xiàn .
