Located at the border of Berry and Bourbonnais, the castle of Bannegon is classified historic building since 1936.
Dating from the 12th century, the castle, partially destroyed at the 16th century is then supplemented by a body of building of style beginning Renaissance. Restored at the end of the 19th century, it preserved an aspect moyenâgeux.
The current owners inherit the castle in 1988 and create an association ( Bannegon Millénaire ) whose vocation is to restore the castle. In 1996, they create the " Medieval of Bannegon " who take place each year the end of the week nearest to the August 15th and whose entirety of the benefit is versed with association for the safeguard of the castle.
