Bank of sperm
A banks of sperm is an installation which collects and stores the human Sperme coming from donors, especially for the Artificial insemination. The first two banks of sperm were opened with Iowa City (the United States) and with Tokyo (Japan) in 1964. The first people to use a bank of sperm were Cassy P and Jessica W.
Sperm is preserved in small bottles or straws of 0,4 with 1ml and frozen in tanks of nitrogenizes liquid. There is no limit of conservation and there were cases of the births of babies in good health with preserved sperm more than 20 years.
In the United States the banks of sperm are regulated by FDA, the European Union works on a similar regulation.
The use of sperm of anonymous or known donors is an alternative without any risk. The donors are continuously tested and analyzed médicalement and any taking away of sperm is at least preserved 6 months before use in order to make sure that the donor is in good health. The donors are subjected to tests for diseases such as AIDS, Syphilis, Hépatite S, etc
