Bank of State of the Russian Empire
The Banque of State of the Russian Empire () was the principal bank of the Russian Empire of 1860 to 1917. The bank is regarded as the predecessor of the Central Bank of the Federation of Russia which acts today as Central bank in Russia.
History
The Bank of State was created on May 31st, 1860 as banks commercial of State by Ukase of the emperor Alexandre II. The decree also defined the statute of the bank: the bank of State was to grant short-term credits to the business enterprises and industrial.
At the beginning of 1917 the bank included/understood 11 permanent branches, 133 offices and 5 temporary as well as a network of 42 agencies. November 17th, 1917, the Bank of State dissolved and was replaced by the Banque of the People of Russia (until 1922) then by the Banque of State of the USSR (until 1991). After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, a news Central bank was created: the Central Bank of the Federation of Russia.
