The Banque of England (in English, Bank off England ) is the Central bank of the United Kingdom. Since 1997, it is independent of the government.
This bank (sometimes called The Old Lady off Threadneedle Street , the old woman of Threadneedle Street, the name of its address in the City of London since 1734) was founded in 1694. It was nationalized on March 1st 1946 and became independent in 1997.
The Bank of England has as a role to promote and maintain the stability monetary and financial of the United Kingdom, to lead the policy of exchange, to ensure the distribution of the pounds sterling in England and with the Wales, and to play the part of “lender in last spring” near the trade banks.
The Banque of Scotland can emit independently of the tickets.
