Bandurria
The bandurria is a Musical instrument with cords pinches having given its name to the whole of the instruments which composes the group of the Spanish Luth S, i.e. bandurria soprano, mezzo soprano, tenor, baritone, low and low noble even if all receive other names such as bandurrín, Laúd (bandurria tenor), laudón… thus holding the name of bandurria to the only acute instrument .
Today, and after being last by various forms and size throughout the history, it is a small instrument with the case of resonance in form of Poire, its handle is provided with hoops, small piece of Bois which divides it into box of various sizes and on which are laid out six double cords. This instrument requires the use of a Médiator.
The bandurria during the 20th century, was essential like a fundamental instrument of the Folklore of certain areas of Spain and frequently appears in the Spanish lyric repertory, the Zarzuela. It was also used for the Dominican Merengue.
