Philippe Lehman , known as Bando is most famous Parisian graffitor of the Années 1980 - 1990, but also a producer of discs.
The graffiti
He discovers the graffiti with New York and is subject to the influence of Dondi White. In France it founds the Bomb Squad 2 in 1983. It attracts with Paris Dutch Shoe and the TCA The Chrome Angels, a British collective of which the most famous member, Mode 2 settled in Paris and enormously painted with Bando. Music
At the beginning of the Years 1990, it launches out in the musical production with the label Pure Records, founded with Aldo Rosati and compiling titles of music Funk. It leaves then for New York where it creates a new label, Desco Records, with Gabe Roth. The tastes different from the two associated ones push them to separate: while Roth likes to it drunk " claire" with brilliant coppers, Lehman seeks to obtain the sound of a music " brute" , as one could have recorded it in a cellar forty years ago. Each one thus leaves on its Lehman/Bando side assembles the label Soul Fire Records.
