Bando-yoga or system of body development

Definition

Various practices of Burmese yoga in the Thaing . The purpose of they are the body development, physical maintenance and the care of the body. One there finds the Letha-yoga , practical with partner, centered on the work of the articulations, left chiropractic; then the Dhanda-yoga usually with stick, or art to relieve the body and the mental one by respiratory postures and applications; and finally, the Longi-yoga , practical body with like mediator a cord and clothing. Body activity intended to develop and maintain physical and mental qualities the practitioners of Thaing. It consists in practicing postures and body attitudes (Asana) in relation to respiratory exercises (Pranayama) and becoming aware of its capacities and its lacks.

Technical characteristics and specificities

Various practices and methods of yoga in Thaing have a Burmese specificity. The purpose of they are the body development, physical maintenance and the care of the body. Three principal practices there are found:

  • the dhanda-yoga , practical postural generally assisted stick even of a tackle with an aim of stretching themselves and of reinforcing musculairement containing postures and of respiratory application. It is an excellent practice making it possible to prepare (to overheat) the body before the drive or a competition.

  • the longi-yoga , practical body of which the goal is to develop the flexibility and to remove the muscular tensions, with like instrument a part of fabrics (Sash*) or a cord.

  • the letha-yoga , practical with partner with an aim of stretching, of invigorating and of relieving the body and the mental one. Work is centered on articulations, it is a kind of chiropractic. One also finds there techniques of massage to activate blood circulation and to control the energy circuits and techniques of local pressure of anatomical points.
