The banderillero is, with the bullfight, the Peón charged to pose the Banderilles. Also get busy as adjectival for a Matador which poses itself the banderillas, instead of entrusting this task to its peones : “a matador banderillero”.
Presentation
The banderillero intervenes during the second tercio, which consists in posing the banderillas (Spanish: banderillas), sticks of approximately 80 cm length, finished by a harpoon and covered with paper of color.In theory, three pairs of banderillas are posed. However, the president of the race can decide to reduce the number of it; the matador can request from the president the authorization that a fourth is posed.
