Banda Aceh
Banda Aceh is the capital of the province Indonesia of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. It is located on the coastal plain of the northern point of Sumatra, with the mouth of the Aceh river.
Its population is of 219.000 inhabitants (2000).
History
Until independence, the name of the city was Kuta Radja , “the city of the kings”, capital of the old sultanate of Aceh.It had on December 26th, 2004 enormous a Tsunami.
