Bamako is a film free - américano - Mali in Abderrahmane Sissako left in 2006.

Synopsis

Miss is a singer of bar and her husband, Chaka, with unemployment is inserted in silence. In spite of a girl who links them, their couple émiette gradually. They live in a house which they divide with several families. In the court, an astonishing event is held: the lawsuit of the African civil society against the the World Bank and the the IMF!

Comments

• This film mixes part of fiction scenarized by Sissako and a lawsuit improvised by truths lawyers, (of which the French William Bourdon and Roland Rappaport), president of the jury and witnesses. Various the " acteurs" lawsuit thus worked out their own arguments and pleadings, giving an interesting vision of the Mondialisation and its consequences in Africa.
• At the time of a scene where characters look at the television Malian, the latter diffuses a false film which is a parody of Western spaghetti, " Death in Timbuktu" , being ironical about the current world and showing the complexity of the things: White and Blacks killing of the Blacks, symbol of a joint responsibility of the negative effects of current universalization in the Country of the South. The cow-boys are played by Sissako itself, Danny Glover (which are Co-producer of film) and other personal friends of Sissako, all having agreed to play this part free.
