Balto (1922 – March 14th, 1933) was a Husky which led the team during the race to the serum of 1925, with Nome (Alaska), during which an anti-diphtheric drug due transported being of Anchorage to Nome by sledges of dogs to fight a epidemic this disease. This memory is commemorated every year by the named race Iditarod.
