Balthazar de Beaujoyeulx
Balthazar de Beaujoyeulx (in Italian Baldassare da Belgioioso ) is a Violoniste and Chorégraphe French of origin Italy nne (probably of the village of Belgioioso in Lombardy), born towards 1535 and died towards 1587.
Sent in France near Catherine de Médicis towards 1558, he became manservant of Henri II and changes name into taking French nationality. Starting from 1560, he is manservant of Catherine de Médicis and Marie Stuart, then of Charles IX and Henri III.
Main to dance and organizer of the entertainments of the court, it regulates several ballets, of which the Ballet of the Poles (1573) and especially the comic Ballet of the queen (1581). Near to the poetic line humanistic of the Pleiad and Jean Antoine de Baïf, it will have played a determining role in the emergence of the Ballet from court.
