Ballet dancing of India
The ballet dancings of India are the forms of dances described by the treaty Nâtya-shâstra, i.e.:
- the Bharata natyam,
- the Odissi,
- the Mohiniattam,
- the Kuchipudi.
One includes there sometimes the ballet dancings of the Assam:
- the Sattriya,
- the Savaguwa dance and Row-guwa Ojapali
- Dewgharar Dev.-Natir Nritya
and the Kathak, dance of India of the Persian North of origin.
It will be noted that the Manipuri does not form part of this list.
