Balbin

Balbin ( Decius Caelius Calvinus Balbinus ) was Roman Emperor from February-May 238, jointly with Maxime Pupien.

He was initially senator. He was selected with Maxime Pupien to fight wild the Maximin Thrace. They controlled with enough wisdom, but they were massacred after a reign of a few months by the Praetorian which did not want to recognize emperors that they had not made themselves. They were replaced by the young person Gordien.
