Balaruc-the-Old man
Balaruc-the-Old man is a common French, located in the department of the Herault and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Since December 31st, 2002, it belongs to the Communauté of agglomeration of the Basin of Thau. Its inhabitants is called Balarucois.

December 11th 1886: the commune of Balaruc is divided into two communes whose chief towns are Balaruc-the-Old man and Balaruc-the-Baths.

Festivities
In July, the city finds the moyennageuses colors, while becoming the theater of the Medieval Festival, accommodating a public increasingly many. The day finishes in beauty with a pyrotechnical spectacle of quality, with the flashover of the ramparts of the village.

The animal totemic of Balaruc-the-Old man is the mullet ( lo mujol in Occitan).The origin is in a conflict which opposed the bishop of Maguelonne, lord of Balaruc and the inhabitants about taxes to be paid on the fruits of fishing.
