Balance of market

In economy, a balance of market is a Vecteur of price such as, for this vector, the offer of each good is equal to the request for each good.

If the goods considered represent the whole of the goods available in the studied economy, one speaks about general stability. If not, it is about a partial balance.

It is necessary to take guard with the fact that, contrary to the usual meaning of the term, the balance of market does not indicate a state, but a price list. To speak about one economy to balance is thus generally abusive, because one does not specify in general the process leading to this balance (see the Crieur of price of Leon Walras).
