Bakufu
Or shogunat (of Shogun) is the military government with the Japan since the end of the 12th century until the revolution of the era Meiji (1868). Japan knew three bakufu :
- the bakufu of Kamakura (鎌倉幕府) or Shogunat de Kamakura (1192 - 1333)
- the bakufu of Muromachi (室町幕府) or Shogunat Ashikaga (1338 - 1573)
- the bakufu of Edo (江戸幕府) or Shogunat Tokugawa (1603 - 1867)
The bakufu of Kamakura is composed of three bodies:
- the mandokoro , which is the office of the administrative businesses and which deals of finances and the foreign politics.
- the samurai dokoro , which deals of the military businesses and the police force
- the monchugo , which is the high court of justice and which deals with all the legal affairs
The bakufu of Edo is composed of various bodies which direct it:
- *Le Tairô (大老) or large old.
- *le council of the Rôjû (老中) or council of old.
- *le council of the Wakadoshiyori (若年寄) or council of the old young people.
- *le Metsuke (大目付) or censorship.
- *les Machi-bugyo (奉行) or civil governor.
- *le council of the Rôjû (老中) or council of old.
