Bakari Koné , known as “Baky” (born the September 17th 1981 with Abidjan) is a Football international or of the Ivory Coast evolving/moving at the station of attacker.

Biography

Baky makes its beginnings, like many small of the Ivory Coast, in the streets of the districts of Abidjan. It is there that it is made locate by Jean-Marc Guillou. It integrates then, at the 12 years age, the first promotion of the Academy MimoSifcom, the training center of football of ASEC Abidjan. This Academy teaches not only football but exemption also an education with its boarders.

After 5 years of formation to the academy, the young player begins his professional path, in his birthplace with ASEC Abidjan and gains three championships of Ivory Coast and a supercoupe of Africa (1999). In 2002, it is transferred to the club qatari from Al Ittihad where there will remain only six months under the direction of the French trainer Christian Gourcuff.

At the summer 2003, the Breton coach leaves the Qatar and signs an new agreement with the Football Southern Lorient-Brittany Club. It thus submits to the President FC Lorient, to propose a test with the small wonder of the Ivory Coast. The test is conclusive and the club made sign a contract with Baky which begins its career in Europe by the means of the Ligue 2 French. The small attacker is quickly made know on the French grounds. After a first season more than honourable which finishes with 10 goals with its credit, during the second, it marks the spirits as much as the goals. Indeed during the season 2004 - 2005, he becomes better striker of Ligue 2 with a total of 24 achievements for 35 disputed matches. New reward for the player on May 22nd 2005, it is devoted better player of League 2 during the very official annual ceremony of the Trophies of UNFP (National union of the Professional Footballers).

Its departure of Lorient is celebrated on May 27th, 2005. This date corresponds to the 38e and last day of championship of the season 2004-2005 which disputes at the Stage of Moustoir with Lorient. The match suggested against Sedan will remain forever engraved in the memory of the player and the supporters which held for him a rare ovation for such a young player and whose destination is not yet known. Indeed, Baky having taken the measurement of the Ligue 2, it is quite naturally that he is coveted by several clubs of French Ligue 1 and by other foreign clubs. Its sporting ambition encourages it to remain in France. After several advanced contacts (Lille, Auxerre, Strasbourg, Sochaux, Anderlecht and others…), it is the club of the Riviera of the OGC Nice which is shown most incisive to enlist the African pearl. As of the opening of the market of the transfers, the business is concluded and Baky signs at the summer 2005 a 4 year old contract in favor of the club azuréen.

It takes its first steps in official match of Ligue 1 on July 30th with the Stade of Ray vis-a-vis Troyes.

Apart from its exceptional technical qualities, three large strong points characterize Baky: promptness, explosiveness and effectiveness in front of the goal.

Parallel to the Championship of France, Baky saw great adventures with the Éléphants of Ivory Coast. At 24 years, after having taken part in the qualification of the Ivory Coast for the EDGE 2006 (Coupe of Africa of the Nations), he is a privileged actor of the first qualification of his national selection for a final stage of World cup. World cup which saw the Ivory Coast being made eliminate as of the first turn. But Baky will have made a success of a good competition all the same, having even marked its first goal in a world against the Netherlands.

Its year 2006 was thus combined with a voyage in Egypt in January and February for the Coupe of Africa of the Nations and in Germany for the World cup in June. Top of its 24 selections and 6 goals, the attacker of the Ivory Coast also has a promising future under the colors of its country.
