Toponymic etymology

The name comes from the Latin name of a named person Bius to which the suffix is coupled - anus which indicates the membership. Another assumption is that the name comes from the Latin name of a named person Badius and, that with time, the di was transformed into I , always with the suffix - anus . Lastly, the name would come from Praedium Vallejanum , formerly Villa di Valleo , a V being in the blazon of the city.
