The saving in Bahrain is strongly tributary of the Pétrole. Oil accounts for 60% of exports of the country, 70% of the incomes of the government and 30% of GDP. The economic health of the country fluctuates with the variation of the black ransom price, such as for example, during and after the crisis of the Persian Gulf of 1990-91. A great part of exports is composed of the oil products processed starting from imported crude. With equipment of strongly developed communication and transport, Bahrain accommodates many multinationals having activities in the area. The sector of the building with many projects, is another engine of the activity.
Nevertheless unemployment, particularly in the young people, and the exhaustion of mineral oils and of subterranean water are economic problems in the long run.
Thanks to an interesting fiscal policy and with its infrastructures, Bahrain , like Dubai with the United Arab Emirates, attracts many political personalities, sporting or artistic. One can quote as example the singer Michael Jackson who made kingdom his new main home in 2005.
