Bagnolet is a Commune Frenchwoman, located in the department of the Seine-Saint-Denis and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called Bagnoletais.

Geography

The city is located in the suburbs is of Paris, in the south of the department of the Seine-Saint-Denis. It is bordering on Paris, the Lilacs, Romainville and Montreuil.

History

Etymology

The etymology of the name Bagnolet could come from balneolum , pointing out the presence of water, ponds, marshes (valleys), or bannus, which means round of applause, margin of jurisdiction, and which gave the word suburbs.

Jacqueline Chonavel is a French political personality, born on July 7th, 1924 in Paris, member of the French Communist party.
