Bagneux , a common of the department of the Hauts-de-Seine, in the area Ile-de-France, in France. Its inhabitants are Balnéolais.

Geography

The commune is located at the south-east of the Hauts-de-Seine in extreme cases of the the Valley-of-Marne.

Public transport last

  • Tram Bagneux-Field of Mars (corresponds to the current way of the 128 between the Door of Orleans and Bagneux-Dampierre) built at the time of the World Fair of 1900.

  • Railroad: Paris-Chartres via Bagneux. Of this unfinished project (carried out only between Massy and Chartres in the years 1910) remains the old marshalling yard of Montrouge, located on the towns of Châtillon and Bagneux, connected to the Montparnasse network.

This marshalling yard includes/understands today: - The deposit of Montrouge (located mainly on Bagneux), for the maintenance of the trains of the Montparnasse network. - Maintenance the workshop of TGV of Châtillon (located mainly on Châtillon) - Workshop the RATP of Châtillon-Bagneux (located on Bagneux), for the maintenance of the oars of line 13 of the subway.

The town of Bagneux does not profit directly from any of these means of transport.

Public transport current

The commune is served by the station Bagneux the RER B located at Cachan in limit of the two communes. Since the Door of Orleans the stations of Arcueil-Cachan and Borough Queen the RER B, Bagneux is served by the buses 128, 188, 197, 388, 162 and 391.

Public transport future

Within the framework of the Contract State Area 2007-2012, line 4 of the subway should be prolonged until Montrouge (administrative center) and Bagneux (Martyrs of Chateaubriant) about 2012. With this occasion, a new ZAC " Victor Hugo" will be arranged around the future subway station. Several public equipment is envisaged to be rebuilt or established (crib, Center of Arts of the Southern Circus of the Seine,…) at the time of the renewal of the district.

History

The king Louis XIV made there royal hunting regularly for the 17th century.

In addition, the parish of Bagneux is one of oldest of what corresponds today to the South of the department of the Hauts-de-Seine. It is about the Saint-Hermeland church, located close to the Dampierre place.

That explains the denomination of origin of the communes bordering: Châtillon-under-Bagneux (current Châtillon), Fontenay-the-Bagneux or Fontenay-under-Bagneux (become Fontenay-Aux-Roses), Châtenay-under-Bagneux (become Châtenay-Malabry). These denominations have all be officially today abandoned, even if one can still sometimes find the mention of Châtillon-under-Bagneux.

War of 1870

October 13rd, 1870: battle against the Prussians with Bagneux under the direction of the Commander de Dampierre died at the time of the combat.

Recent event

Following removal, the torture and the murder of Ilan Halimi, all the population balnéolaise moved, gather at the time of a great walk with all the religious communities of the city.

Economy and Town planning

Three large districts of Bagneux will be transformed in the next years. The Zone of Concerted Activities (ZAC) Blanchard located close to the center village of Bagneux at the limit of Fontenay at the Pinks is now in building site. A municipal crib and rental dwellings and with social accessions will be contruites in this new district.

The street of the Hillocks and Cuverons change. The residence of Cuverons is rehabilitated. The city of the Hillocks is in phase of transition: the inhabitants integrate the other districts while waiting for the demolition-rebuilding of the district of the Hillocks within the framework of the Operation Urban renewal (ORU). The gymnasium Paul Eluard dedicated to the gymnastics soon will be demolished. The activity of the gymnastes moved in the Guimier Gymnasium remade to nine located in the Center Town.

The Zone of Concerted Activities (ZAC) Victor Hugo is in phase of investigations for a refitting of the district from the point of view of the arrival of the subway Ligne 4 (2014) with the Round Not of the Martyrs. Land reserves are planned for the construction of a municipal crib and the creation of a Center of Arts of the Circus close to the theater Victor Hugo. Constructions of rental social dwellings and with accessions are envisaged in this ZAC.
