Bagne

The bagne is a penal establishment dedicated to the forced labors. However, all the convicts are not condemned to the forced labors. The bagnes colonial French are abolished in 1938.

The origin of the word " bagne" comes from Italian bagno , who was the name old " public baths " with Rome, reconverted in " prison of esclaves".
