Bagad Kemper
The bagad Kemper ( Kemper is the name Breton of the town of Quimper) created in 1949 is one of the bagadoù the most prestigious of Brittany. Its reputation is due to its important prize list and also to collaborations with other artist, such daN Ar Braz, Carlos Núñez, Johnny Clegg or Susana Seivane.
Historical reference marks
The formation quimpéroise was created in October 1949 by Ronan Cadiou, Jos Corre and Pierre Kerbourc' H under the name of kevrenn It hlazig . In 1954, the Bagad takes the name of bagad Kemper of the kevrenn It hlazig which, it, gathers all the bagadoù area. In 1962, a transitory section female is born under the name of “bagad Morgane”, it stops after five businesss year. The accession in first category intervenes in 1968. Two years later, the traditional costume glazig is abandoned with the profit of a particular uniform. The national championship of first category is obtained in 1975 and the following year it is the recording of the first disc (vinyl): “ Toniou war year Dachenn ”. The first woman integrates the group in 1990. In August 1992, participation in the championship of the world of the Pipe-band S with Glasgow and in 1993 beginning of the adventure of the Heritage of the Celts of daN Ar Braz with the Festival from Cornwall in Quimper. This project, which federates many artists originating in the Celtic countries, allows them côtoyer in particular Gilles Servat, Yann-Fañch Kemener, Didier Squiban, Karen Matheson (of the Scottish group Capercaillie), Elain Morgan, etc and to occur on many scenes.In parallel, the bagad continues its discographic activity: in 1995 it is the recording of rear Lip Maout , in 1999 Hep Diskrog , in 2001 Azeliz Iza and in 2004 South-rear Su .
The bonds which link the area Brittany and the province of the Shandong in China were the occasion for the musicians quimpérois to join the Breton delegation which went over there in May 2005 for about fifteen Brittany and to give several concerts to it.
Formation
The bagad Kemper belongs to BOTTOM 29 (rear Bodadeg Sonerion of the Finistere), it counts forty musicians divided in the three desks constituting a bagad: Bagpipe S, bombards S and percussions. Its current PEN-to sound is Jean-Louis Hénaff.The repertory, in the beginning traditional, opened with other musical universes, which enabled him to work with many artists and to take part in the Héritage of the Celts.
It takes part in various contests and was 18 times champion of Brittany of 1st category and 2 times champion of Brittany of 2nd category. One regularly finds it in the great musical demonstrations: Festival of Cornwall of Quimper, the Festival interceltic of Lorient, Fallen the Night to Rennes.
