Physical characteristics

  • Nymph: from 12 to 18 mm for the body
  • Imago:
    • Body: 12 to 14 mm, 16 to 17 mm
    • Cerque S: 20 to 22 mm, 16 to 18 mm
    • Ailes: 12 to 14 mm, 15 to 17 mm

Baetis alternata is very recognizable with its marks in " legs of oiseau" being reproduced on each ring of its abdomen.

Localization

Baetis alternata is especially present in the center and the south of Europe, particularly in the rivers of head of Bassin pouring.
