Badia Fiorentina
The Badia Fiorentina with Florence is the name running given to the church Santa Maria Assuntanella (of the Assomption). On reaches it by the Via Proconsolo which skirts the palate it Bargello.
Structure
The church and the cloister rise on the basis of initial construction of the abbey (badia) bénédictine of the Florence, oldest of Florence and built in 978.The bell-tower, started in Romance style about 1310, finishes in Gothic about 1330.
The Gothic apse of Arnolfo di Cambio, of the 13th century, is altered in 1627 by Matteo Segaloni.
The principal gate is of Benedetto da Rovezzano.
The Chiostro degli Aranci was built between 1432 and 1438 by Bernardo Rossellino.
