Badalona

Badalona is a Ville of Spain, in the Banlieue of Barcelona, in Catalogne. It is populated of 250.000 inhabitants and its surface is of 22,5 km ². It is made up of 35 districts. Vastest eight “Canyet is the number”. The maximum altitude of the east city of 485 meters.

Monuments of the city

There are many churches with Badalona, two larger are:

The church Sant Josep is located in the center of the city towards “ el to square Enric Borras ” and more exactly to the number 20 and 24 of the “ pasatge ventos to mir ”. The church measures approximately 65 meters height. It was built in 1860. It is the largest church of the city. It can contain approximately 1000 sitted people.

The church Santa Maria is located in the Dalt district the Villa on a kind of hill. The church measures approximately 45 meters height. It was built at the XVIIIe century.

Badalona is also a very industrial city, the three gigantic chimneys of Fecsa (Las very chimeneas) are one of the most important symbols of the city. These chimneys measure each one 200 meters height. The first block measures 90 meters and the chimney (which is on the block) measurement 110 meters. They were built in 1972 with the site of the old thermo plant of Badalona.

Close to these three chimneys, there are two thermo plants which are unutilised and which measure 90 meters height. They were built in 1968.

In the east of these two power stations two old 60 meters height are chimneys.

The beach of Badalona

The port of Badalona has just been inaugurated in 2005. It is located at two kilometers of the thermo plants.

With its 6 km of coast, the beach of Badalona is one longest of Catalogne.

The maritime passage of Badalona was prolonged on one kilometer.

The cities which surround Badalona

Badalona is surrounded by the towns of Sant Adrià del Besòs (35 000 hab.) in south-east, Santa Coloma de Gramenet (115 000 hab.) in south-west, Montgat (10 000 hab.) in the North-East and Tiana (6 500 hab.) in the North-West.
