Badajoz is a Ville of Spain, in Estrémadure, Chef-lieu of the Province of Badajoz, on the Guadiana. Its population is of 136.136 inhabitants.

It is the fatherland of the painter Luis of Morals. Badajoz, after the Arab conquest of the S, formed with 11th and 12th centuries a small State Musulman; it was removed with the Moor S at the 12th century. In 1811 -1812, Badajoz supported three successive seats: taken on the Spanish S by the marshal Nicolas Jean-of-God Soult (March 8th 1811), it was not taken by the English (April 6th 1812) only after two fatal seats.
