Bacterium chimiotrophe

The bacteria chimiotrophes are Procaryote S which use the energy of chemical compounds as initial source of energy. One distinguishes them from the bacteria phototrophes, which use luminous energy.

These bacteria use chemical compounds, by Oxydo-réduction to work out their own organic components. According to the nature of the compound used, mineral or organic, one distinguishes two great types from them:

  • the bacteria chimio-lithotrophes use mineral compounds
  • the bacteria chimio-organotrophes use organic compounds. They constitute the vast majority of the eubacteries chimiotrophes.
